❤️ Day 2 — How Have I Adapted?

Intro

For the next month, I’m writing a daily stream of consciousness — a small ritual of presence, play, and morning mind‑wandering. I’ll be using WordPress’s daily prompts as sparks, but the writing itself will stay raw, intuitive, and lightly caffeinated.
A month of unfiltered thought. A month of birds, coffee, dreams, and whatever else drifts through the early hours.

Daily writing prompt
How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

How have I adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid‑19 pandemic?
Great question…
I was just wondering if this topic still matters to anyone…
So many have written about it — seasoned writers, newbies, everyone with a pulse and a keyboard.

And many of us carry quiet traumas from that time.
There was a time of shock…
A time of strange amusement… of laughter and this illusion of victory…
And now…
A time of sorrow.

I guess…
I adapted well to life…

Breathe…
In…
Out…
Life goes on, apparently.
Bills still arrive.
Birds still scream at 5 a.m.
And I still haven’t figured out how to fold a fitted sheet.

So yes — I adapted.
But not gracefully.
More like a cat thrown into a bathtub:
alive, alert, and deeply offended by the entire situation.

  1. The last 2 lines are a very apt metaphor for the pandemic and post-pandemic world.

As since my bedroom is right next to the house bathroom, I have heard the reactions of my landlady’s cat 🐈 Leo when my landlady puts him in the shower 🚿 after he’s gotten too dirty while outside.
