Intro
For the next month, I’m writing a daily stream of consciousness — a small ritual of presence, play, and morning mind‑wandering. I’ll be using WordPress’s daily prompts as sparks, but the writing itself will stay raw, intuitive, and lightly caffeinated.
A month of unfiltered thought. A month of birds, coffee, dreams, and whatever else drifts through the early hours.
In spring… the birds begin their operetta at 5…
I swear they hold tiny conductor batons.
I guess one of them is named Maestro Pip.
I swear, another one is definitely… drunk.
So I open the balcony door — not to greet the dawn, not to commune with nature, but to let the birds know I acknowledge their existence and would like them to please keep it down while I sleep for one more hour.
They never do.
But the breeze is nice.
Then I drift back into that half‑dream…
Eventually, I rise, triumphant, like a croissant that has finally accepted its destiny.
Coffee.
Yes.
The sacred bean.
The pleasure ritual in a cup.
The thin line that separates the feral creature from the functioning adult.
I brew it slowly…
The birds watch.
Judging.
Approving.
Plotting.
Then I read — one hour of drifting between sentences, caffeine, and the occasional feathered scream from outside.
Sometimes I imagine the birds are reading with me.
Sometimes I imagine they’re critiquing my book choices.
Sometimes I imagine they want coffee too.
Honestly, if a blackbird ever shows up holding a tiny demitasse, I will simply accept it as part of the natural order.
