🐟 Telepathy Fish Soup — The Secret Brain Food Writers Love

Daily writing prompt
What skill would you like to learn?

I’d like to learn the skill of telepathy. Imagine writing when your characters whisper their lines straight into your head. Although knowing them, they’d probably tease me about grammar and demand better love scenes.

Until then, I consult my soup — it knows everything my characters are thinking.

🐟 Telepathy Fish Soup — The Secret Brain Food Writers Love

Simple Ninja Foodie Edition 🐟

Ingredients
  • 2 salmon fillets (brain fuel, obviously)
  • 1 small onion, 2 cloves garlic, a thumb of ginger
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • Lime, salt, pepper, optional herbs

Instructions
  1. Throw everything except salmon and lime into your Ninja Soup Maker. Hit Smooth and let it whisper into silk.
  2. Slide in salmon, run Chunky until tender and flake-worthy.
  3. Stir in coconut milk, lime, salt, and pepper. Herbs if you’re feeling fancy.
  4. Serve while imagining your characters whispering compliments… or passive-aggressive critiques.

Serving suggestion

Taste slowly… and tell me if you can read my mind. Or at least guess which character is about to drink her second coffee😏

Telepathy Fish Soup Survival Tips 🐟

Onion and garlic? Treat them gently. Too much and suddenly your soup isn’t telepathy anymore—it’s a biohazard. Brain fuel for you… gas masks for everyone else.

Oil? Just two drops. Brush it lightly. Fry too much, and the aromatics get crispy wild.

Coconut milk? Pour slowly. Too much and your soup gets… desserty, confusing both the fish and your neurons.

Fish timing is everything. Salmon wants gentle attention, not a sauna session. Overcooking = flakes everywhere = sad story. Don’t kill the fish… again.

Seasoning? Salt, pepper, lime… tease them, don’t shock. Keep the fish calm.

Optional Extra Telepathy: For max character eavesdropping… toss in two salmon eyeballs. 🐟👀
Warning: may cause your soup to stare back at you and judge your plot twists.

  1. Salmon is my favourite fish.

I must have mastered the skill of telepathy and didn’t know it.

For my characters do whisper their lines straight into my head.

A lot of the time, I don’t do my writing, my characters do.

For example when I stopped writing for a year from October 2011 to October 2012, two of my novels series characters Amadeus Emanon and Renfield R. Renfield started entering my dreams and begged me to start writing again.

I thought I was crazy until I watched a movie about the Brothers Grimm and the same thing apparently happened to one of the Grimm Brothers when he stopped writing for awhile.
