Art, Ice, and Opera: My Dream Jobs

Daily writing prompt
List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

Well… you know my love for fine art, ice cream, and music… so naturally, my dream jobs are basically a mashup of sneaky museum mischief, magical literary desserts, and occasionally yelling… dramatically in opera halls.

1. Midnight Museum Prank Curator

I’d tiptoe in after hours and swap every masterpiece’s title cards.

Suddenly, Starry Night becomes The Really Big Cosmic Omelet, and Monet’s lilies are labeled Frogs’ Hot Tub Party.

Some of my favorite renames:

  • The Mona Lisa → “Woman Who Just Remembered She Left the Oven On.”
  • The Thinker → “Guy Who Forgot His… Password Again.”
  • The Birth of Venus → “Beach Day Gone Wild”
  • The Persistence of Memory → “Clocks Having a Cheese Nap.”
  • Girl with a Pearl Earring → “Earbud Commercial, 1665.”

2. Literary Gelato Alchemist

Craft ice-cream flavors inspired by books—because every story deserves a scoop.

Menu of questionable but delicious flavors:

  • Crime and Pun-ishmint – dark chocolate gelato with a hint of peppermint.
  • Sherbet Holmes – detects your sweet tooth… before you do.
  • Moby Drip – whale-sized vanilla scoop
  • Fifty Shades of Earl Grey – dangerously caffeinated tea ice cream.
  • Much Ado About Nutella – because arguing over chocolate is pure… Shakespeare.

3. Opera House Echo Tester

My sole duty: stand center stage, belt out “Pastaaaaaa!” to ensure the acoustics are perfect.

Standing ovations optional, marinara mandatory.
