Literary Devotion

Love Will Save the World

Dear Cherished Friends, Authors, and Followers,

You’ve been tagged to introduce you to our latest literary projects, showcase the April edition of the New Literary Society E-Magazine, and share how you can promote yourself and your brand in our publication — plus much more! If you’d prefer not to be tagged in the future, just let us know.

A few days ago, as I edited some of your stories (yes, yours, you know whom I mean), something stirred — nostalgia, surprise, admiration, envy, maybe just too much Cola — but I suddenly missed writing to you like I used to.

Back when I’d published daily, sometimes twice or thrice…even six times a day — like a literary machine overflowing with emotions, thoughts, and tangled sensations, all eager to be expressed.

Truth is, you’ve been on my mind lately — possibly even more than in 2023— or even 2024, when we launched our New Literary Society (and that says a lot).

While exchanging a few words with one of our loyal authors, Mike Vinson, on Facebook a few days ago, I realized: literature isn’t just my work — it’s my longest love affair.

And believe me, she’s high maintenance and demands full-time devotion.

Here’s a peek into my current literary whirlwind:

English Retroversion

  • I’m knee-deep (no, neck-deep) in the final proofreading of a literary translation.
  • I’m working on a ravishing private-eye novel with exotic elements, written by an experienced writer, whom I had the honor to interview for our pub.
  • This may take a month or even more… or a small miracle.
  • If interested in the author I’m talking about, read the Author Interview.
Author and translator celebrating literature over bitter coffee — May 7 at Casandra Café.

Spanish Retroversion

  • At the same time, I need some time to prep and publish the Spanish version of one of my books — beautifully translated by a talented Mexican writer.
  • I received the manuscript on May 1… so I guess it’s time to drop everything and dive in.
  • After all… how long could it take?
  • Maybe a day or two…
  • Later edit: It was surprisingly smoother than dealing with Amazon — but I still spent hours in Canva, endlessly scrolling through fonts… It was a very stylish struggle.

Book Reviews

  • I’m still haunted (in a good way) by the most recent novels I devoured — those signed by Sal Gallaher, Jeff Turner, Kenneth LaPensee, and Zoran Rogic.
  • The plan?
  • Write those reviews before their authors review me — or worse, turn me into the villain in their next book (nah… I don’t think they’d go that far).
  • Then again — hey — I wouldn’t mind becoming literature.
  • I mean, who doesn’t dream of that?

Book Forewords

  • In short, I am determined to write two forewords this month.
  • And one of them is already sketched.
  • However, time is short, and I hope I still get a few more weeks to finish the one for the Bach novel written by Kenneth LaPensee.
  • Not just because of the story — or because of Bach himself. (For me, that would be a symbolic accomplishment of my personal dream. Back in 2017, I was planning to write a personal novel inspired by Bach’s music. I even interviewed musicians.)

Editing and Translating an Author Interview for NLS pub (on Med)

· There’s a debut author interview and some love poems written especially for us, still waiting patiently for me to translate and share on NLS Med.

Editing Stories on our NLS pub (on Med)

  • Oh, and yes — of course I’m editing your stories daily for our NLS publication.
  • However, I must thank from the bottom of my heart our editors, Sal Gallaher, and Author, D. Denise Dianaty, who helped during times of struggle….
  • And whenever I kindly ask them to.

Working on a Secret Project (on Google Docs)

· And then there’s the secret project… let’s just say it involves a collective novel, a splash of fantasy.

· And four writers by now.

· More on that… soon.

Preparing the NLS E-Magazine May Edition (on Calameo and beyond)

  • Oh, and the NLS E-Magazine May Edition is nearly ready.
  • Just waiting on a few last author photos from… AB Zar.
  • Well… if you would like to find out more about that, just read the end of the April Edition. 😊
