Thank you, dear friends, I appreciate you reaching out. I’ll do my best to answer as many questions as I can.

1. Book Reviewers in the Society

Q: Is someone who is a part of the society an official book reviewer? I have several books that I would like to get reviewed but have not had time to do an official request.

A: That’s a good question! It depends on what you mean by “official book reviewer.” Within our society, many members engage in literary critique — some as professional reviewers, others as part of writing swaps, foreword authors, or simply as passionate readers.

Personally, I do write literary critiques on occasion. However, since I focus on quality, I take on only a few projects each year.

That being said, if you’re interested in book reviews, we’d be happy to help connect you with the right people! Feel free to reach out with more details.

2. How Does Ping Work?

Q: Second, how does Ping work?

A: Ping is a tool that helps create backlinks, increasing the visibility of articles on Google search under the categories you select.

3. Literary Society Contest Details

Q: Not sure how NLS pays the authors (editors and writers).

A: Our contests are completely free to enter because we want to highlight and celebrate literary talent without barriers. Our editors — Sal, Denise, and I, spend weeks reading, editing, and judging submissions to select the best pieces. Once winners are chosen, we create and distribute diplomas and promotional materials to recognize their achievements.

This process takes time, but it’s something we’re truly passionate about — we love seeing our community grow and writers evolve with each new piece!

We welcome and support all writers — whether seasoned, emerging, or just starting out!

4. Your Contest Idea

I really like your idea for an anonymous contest format — it’s a great way to ensure fairness and focus purely on the quality of the writing. While this would be fantastic on another platform, implementing it here would require significantly more time and resources. Just handling dozens of submission emails, reviewing, and uploading pieces would turn into a full-day job for the entire contest period. That said, it’s definitely worth exploring further… in the right setting!

Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in this journey.

And… if you’d like to support my projects, feel free to show some love here:
