Imagine the Scene
Close your eyes and picture a vivid scene or character.
Feel the Atmosphere
Think of the colors, emotions, sounds, smells, or tastes in your scene.
Answer the Big Questions
❓What is your short story about? (A character/an event/both?)
❓What (secret) problem does the main character have?
❓What sudden event causes the main character’s need to try to solve the (secret) problem?
❓What actions does the main character take as a result?
❓What are the consequences of the actions of the main character?
❓What is the end? (Add a final touch of irony.)
By answering these questions, you’ve outlined your plot.
Now, refine it — make it simple, focus on the main conflict, and clarify the ending.
This is your trabble!
Once you’re happy with it, move on to the next step.

- No fees.
- Submission deadline: February 28th, 2025
(And don’t forget to become an active reader and writer for our publication. This means reading and writing at least 20 stories this year — or this winter, if you’re new to our community.
