Verses by Lucian Blaga, translated by Julia Kalman
Please make sure to spend a minimum of 30 seconds reading my story.
I truly cherish the interaction of authentic readers. Thank you very much!

I
Since the sun cannot set
without turning its gaze back to the virgins
of the city, I wonder:
why should I be different from the sun?
II
A beautiful maiden is
an open window to paradise.
More believable than the truth
is sometimes a dream.
III
A beautiful maiden is
the clay that fills its molds,
perfecting itself on a step
where stories await.
IV
What pure shadow
a maiden casts in the light!
It’s almost like nothing,
the only thing without a flaw.
V
A beautiful maiden is
the essence of existence,
the heaven of heavens,
the adornment of the ring.
VI
Beauty from beauty, you emerged
incarnated unexpectedly,
as in “One Thousand and One Nights,”
a tale begets another tale.
VII
A beautiful maiden is
an illusion like smoke,
and from whose soles, when she walks,
the earth and the road would dangle.
VIII
A beautiful maiden is
the mirage in the heat,
the gold of speech,
the tear of paradise.
IX
A beautiful maiden is
as the sun shows us:
an old miracle on a new path,
the rainbow leaping from dew.
X
You, beautiful maiden, will remain
an extension of our realm,
a dream, and among legends,
the only true memory.

Please, clap, engage, and… stay tuned for the next story…! But, most importantly, a profound thank you to each one of you. Your unwavering support has been invaluable.
