My Dearest

Come, my dearest, come and see,
How your absence tortures me.
It won’t let me enter in,
When the evening does begin.
From my bed, it drags me out,
Like a fever, strong and stout.
Forces me to run astray,
Lost, not knowing where I stray.

Imagine

In the early morning light,
I dream of you, hold you tight.
I cling to you, afraid to part,
Calling, cherishing your heart.
Suddenly, I leap from bed,
Awakening, tears I shed.
Sighing, dizzy, I confess,
I feel even more distressed.

Of Fire and Desire

I’m of flesh, not made of steel!
What to do, how not to feel?
For love’s wound is deep and sore,
Neither alive, nor dead, I’m more.
My sleep is not a peaceful rest,
No dominion on my chest.
Even if I close my eyes,
Your face before me lies.

With countless hues, I find.
