Please, take the test, then read my article. In order to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the test results, only the first score you receive should be considered valid. This is because subsequent attempts may be influenced by your previous responses, thus skewing the results. So remember, your first instinctive responses are the most authentic reflection of your creativity!

π‘Creativity is a fascinating subject, isn’t it? It’s like a hidden gem within us, waiting to be discovered and polished. Speaking of which, I recently stumbled upon something intriguing called the Divergent Association Task (DAT). π§
The DAT is a psychological test designed to measure a person’s creativity. Published in July 2021, it involves thinking of 10 words that are as different from each other as possible. For instance, the words “cat” and “book” are quite unrelated, right? The more creative you are, the greater the distances between the words you generate. Fascinating, isn’t it? 1 2
This test is an example of a divergent thinking test, which are frequently used to assess everyday creativity. These tests ask participants to produce multiple ideas in response to specific stimuli, which can be either pictorial or verbal in nature. 3
Interestingly, there are four types of divergent thinking:
- Fluency β the ability to develop large numbers of ideas
- Flexibility β the ability to produce ideas in numerous categories
- Originality – the ability to produce unusual or unique ideas
- Elaboration β the ability to adapt abstract ideas into realistic scenarios 4
So, when I took the DAT, I was pleasantly surprised by the words I listed. They were an eclectic mix, dancing and twirling in their uniqueness. This made me wonder, “Is this a reflection of my creativity?” I guess, at the end of the day, creativity isn’t merely about talent. It’s about how flexibly our brains can make connections and come up with diverse solutions.
Isn’t it beautiful how our minds work? It’s like an endless maze, full of surprises at every turn. So here’s to celebrating our brain’s flexibility, our capacity for change, and our endless potential for creativity. π₯π
Stay curious, stay flexible, stay creative. Much love to you all! πππ
