Embracing the Contradictions

Daily writing prompt
What notable things happened today?

Today was a rollercoaster of emotions. I had an annoying workday, correcting a translation that was both fascinating and lacking something. The sausages looked and tasted great but something wasn’t quite right 👀. The baked paprika smelled amazing but had a rotten taste 🤢. And don’t even get me started on the egg-liquor ice cream…

I even had an internal battle with some gorgonzola, making me question how something so delicious could make me feel mildly disgusted. To top it off, lots of extra sour lemonades and two black coffees left my taste buds in disarray.

But amidst the chaos, came good things 🌞. My parents gifted me a special grater, and I enjoyed some music and nice weather. I even managed to squeeze in a photo shoot, providing a welcome distraction from work.

In the evening, I settled in to watch a movie, only to be thwarted by dead remote control batteries 🙅‍♀️. But this led to a moment of realization – the theme of the day was interior conflicts.

We often love and hate things simultaneously, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s what makes us human. It’s the same conflict that made the novel I translated such a great piece of literature. Who knows, maybe it could even be adapted into a play 🎭.

So let’s embrace the contradictions and all the internal conflicts that come with them. After all, it’s what makes us who we are ❤️.
